Who else thinks that for the past many years now; that Fango is in DIRE need of a creative overhaul.

I agree! Most Horror magazines never changed with the times and are still stuck in the 1980's mentality that is fast turning them into dinosaurs that are
on the endangered and soon to be extinct list.
If someone is gonna spend almost $10 on a magazine, that mag better fuck well be worth the money. Otherwise the only ones that will buy it are the "collector" types that have to buy every issue in order to wake up each moring with a boner about themselves. When those are the only kind of people that buy Fangoria and Rue Morgue anymore, those shitty mags only have themselves to blame for their demise. They are in DIRECT competition with online magazines now... Like our Horror Drunx Online Magazine... We can get news items and stuff up while they are new, without waiting 8-12 weeks before we go to press, which is what gives us the edge. By the time a shitty magazine prints the story, everyone has read it here first. Love,

I remember Gorezone...still have a couple issues but looking back it was really lame...good when i was younger though. Fangoria is terrible now...there are so
many better horror movie mags out there if you search hard enough. Have only just discovered Rue Morgue, which is intelligently written and has a fab layout.
Also, Screem is cool...lots of obscure and cool retro stuff in there..also well written! Even though I run my own horror movie blog http://cyberschizoid.blogspot.com/ and am launching a website, you still cannot beat a good printed zine. I love
'em and intend to launch one myself at some stage, even a one-off to see how it goes.

I have a couple of fangos from the 1980's. && WTF $8.99?? Aren't porno mags cheaper than that?
A couple of years ago I got some issues of Deep Red through this book trading site. I'll scan some articles/pics when I get around to it. |
