Ravenous - (Film/DVD)
The Horror Drunx Review

Why is this first time you have heard about Ravenous? Maybe because it only showed in 1,040 theaters in the United States alone, or maybe because it
has been given such poor reviews over time by reviewers that don't get black comedies to begin with, and subject manner having to do with cannibalism set
in the 1840's California goldmining period. The trailers also did no justice to what the movie was really about. In the United States Ravenous
only made $2,062,405 of it's rumored budget of 12 million dollar budget making it a finicial flop for 1999. This probably made 20th Century Fox Studios was
probably anxious to make Ravenous disappear after the initial theatrical release.
You would be lucky if you accidentally caught it playing on cable late at night. This is one of those movies that you tell somebody about it, and then that
person tells somebody else about it. And before you know it, everybody and they're mom has already seen it, and now loves it.
"It's lonely being a cannibal. Tough making friends."
---Ravenous
Ravenous stars Guy Richie( Newest ex- husband of Madonna), Robert Carlyle( super zombie dad from 28 weeks later), Jeremy
Davies(Ummm.*insert cricket chirping sounds here*), Jeffrey Jones( Ferris Bueller's Day Off principle and a couple noteable Tim Burton roles) and
the dreamy David Arquette ( Brother of smokin' hot sister, Patricia Arquette and married to Courtney Cox of Friends television fame). Happiness
for me would be a threesome between David Arquette and Patricia Arquette. But I digress all over my bi-sexual self further here, I'd throw Courtney Cox in
the mix for good measure. Those would be some good friends to have. One would think with all these big name stars it would be distractingly bad to watch, but
you don't even notice these actors for who they really are after the first thirty minutes.
The suspense builds with a unique soundstrack to what feels like a dozen times over a course of 100 minutes running time.
With all of this being said, it is not your typical cannibal movie because of all the ironic twists .
And yes... there is a funny drunkard character in Ravenous for The Horror Drunx out there.
I won't spoil Ravenous anymore.
Just watch Ravenous because it is that surprisingly entertaining.
