DRUNX GET REMADE?

So I'm zipping around the internet and low and behold what do I see?
The MOVIEFONE website must think they are a The Horror Drunx or something because they released a list of "THE WORST MOVIE REMAKES OF ALL TIME".
Does anyone else remember when it wasn't cool to gripe about remakes and we were the only ones doing it? Well stinky old Moviefone must be paying
attention to what us "Saviors of Horror" are doing this week. Seems like lately everyone wants to jump on the bandwagon and ride our coat tails!
Problem is, these Moviefone idiots don't even know their movies. To top it off, much of their list seems to be based on box office grosses, as if a
remake would be OK as long as it makes lots of money.
Here is their list. I put special notes on the ones they made the dumbest comments about. See how stupid the mainstream is when they try and be us?
2. ROLLERBALL (2002) original made 1975
3. THE FOG (2005) original made 1980
4. THE WICKER MAN (2006) original made 1974
5. SWEPT AWAY (2002) original made 1974
6. WHEN A STRANGER CALLS (2006) original made 1979 (but Moviefone fails to mention it was a rip-off remake of BLACK CHRISTMAS made 5 years earlier in 1974)
7. GET CARTER (2000) original made 1971
8. THE OUT OF TOWNERS (1999) original made 1970
9. THE ISLAND OF DOCTOR MOREAU (1996) original made 1977 (hey, dumbshit Moviefone, no the original was made in 1932 starred Charles Laughton and Bela Lugosi and was called ISLAND OF LOST SOULS)
10. GODZILLA (1998) original made 1954 (Moviefone too dumb to realize it was remade in 1956 by the addition of the Raymond Burr scenes, then remade again in 1984)
11. 101 DALMATIONS (1996) original made 1961
12. THE HITCHER (2006) they mention is a remake of the 1986 film but are too stupid to know the 1986 film is a remake of an earlier film from 1955, The Hitch-Hiker directed by Ida Lupino, shame on you Moviefone it is a classic!
13. ALL THE KINGS MEN (2006) original made 1949
14. THE RING 2 (2005) (umm, a sequel, not a remake dummies)
15. THE STEPFORD WIVES (2004) original made 1975
16. HOUSE OF WAX (2006) according to Moviefone the original was made in 1953, the dimwads don't even realize THAT was a remake of the 1933 film MYSTERY IN THE WAX MUSEUM starring Lionel Atwill and Fay Wray!
17. DOWN TO EARTH (2001) Remake of 1978's Heaven Can Wait (Moviefone too dumb to know THAT was a remake of the 1943 classic HEAVEN CAN WAIT)
18. CITY OF ANGELS (1998) original Wings of Desire 1987
19. THE PINK PANTHER (2006) original made 1963
20. PLANET OF THE APES (2001) original made 1968
21. POSEIDON (2005) original The Poseidon Adventure made 1972
22. THE TRUTH ABOUT CHARLIE (2002) Remake of 1963's Charafe
23. THE LADYKILLERS (2004) original made 1955
24. ALFIE (2004) original made 1966
25. THE INVASION (2007) third remake of INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS
See how stupid a big mainstream company that prides themselves on knowing everything about the movies can be?

My list of the worst HORROR DRUNX REMAKES of all time? Here is a start...
1. RUE MORGUE MAGAZINE - For Jovanka swiping about everything Montgomery Brando and every other writer for The Horror Drunx writes, then printing her own watered down take on it like clockwork 3 months later.
2. DREAD CENTRAL - For cutting and pasting our articles onto their website without asking permission.
3. THE CLASSIC HORROR FILM FORUM - For doing the same as Dread Central with our articles, then flaming the authors when they complain and refusing to delete the folder, then even canceling the writers accounts there. http://monsterkidclassichorrorforum.yuku.com/directory
4. AUGUST RAGONE - Author - Who steals Horror Drunx articles, then omits any mention of The Horror Drunx and distributes them as his own writing. As an "author" he should know what the word "PLAGIARISM" means. CLAIMS to be the author of "Eiji Tsuburaya: Master of Monsters" coming fall 2007 from Chronicle Books. Author of several DVD liner note projects, such as KIKAIDA, KAMEN RIDER V3 and KIKAIDA 01 for JN Productions; IRON KING, SUPER ROBOT: RED BARON and SILVER MASK for BCI/Eclipse; as well as STARMAN and SUPER INFRAMAN for Image Entertainment. Also the organizer for the annual classic horror film festival, SHOCK IT TO ME! at the Castro Theatre in San Francisco, CA.
I could go on, but the worms usually pop to the surface themselves if you watch for them. But maybe they should be reminded by us that we are watching.
