Electronic / Punk bands.�Now before that turns you off, let me assure you, THEY ROCKED! Keep reading...
DER SLOBBERKLOPFER were the first band of their kind and even KRAFTWERK (who often get credit as the first) followed in their footsteps. DER SLOBBERKLOPFER is
also a band with an amazingly grisly and sad history that rivals any Horror movie tale and is worse than ever happen to any Black Metal band, as you will soon
see if you don't already know. This is why they never got the credit they deserved. But in their time, for that short while, they were the HUGEST band in
the world... Outselling The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath ...all of whom opened for DER SLOBBERKLOPFER at one time or another!

Some rare super early footage of DER SLOBBERKLOPFER has recently been found in a long condemned Berlin building (of all places!) and while it is not
at all representative of what they would later morph into (they were still experimenting with their sound) it is an amazing insight into the bands
history and evolution. Bare with it, it is pretty bad, but so worth it for fans of the band!? Here it is...
SYNOPSIS:
Proclaiming "Der traktor ist dead!" this new green version of DER SLOBBERKLOPFER was founded in 1968 by Rictor Werederhoffer (guitar, synthesizers, chainsaw) and Yohan Huttermann (bass, electronic organ, synthesizers, dentist drill). The two had met as students at the Düsseldorf Conservatory in the mid 1960s, participating in the German experimental music scene of the time, which the British music press dubbed "Krautrock".
While founding members Rictor Werederhoffer and Yohan Huttermann always remained the heart and soul of the band, many other musicians became temporary members over the years, but it seemed that all those who stayed too long were killed in horribly violent freak accident ways (you've all heard about the hideous "acid bath" and "rendering chute" and other stories! Yipes!)
Many years later in 1975 after waning album sales (remember they predated punk by almost 10 years!) DER SLOBBERKLOPFER tried to reintroduce their former sound and bring back "Herr Traktor" as a percussion instrument. It was to disastrous effect when an entire auditorium full of their fans, along with the band, succumbed to carbon monoxide poisoning and died. Unknowingly to the deceased members of the band Herr Traktor had apparently had a long history of mental illness and held a long grudge for missing the huge initial success of the band and had finally had its revenge.
